Daniel Arnold’s iPhone photographs of commuters and midtown workers are in a long traditional of New York street and subway photography from Walker Evans to Garry Winogrand, Bruce Davidson and Bruce Gilden.  Voyeuristic, with the dogged diaristic sensibility of an Instagrammer (Arnold’s project is born of out of popular feed) he catalogues the many characters of the city within the democratic confides of the subway and congested midtown traffic.
